Turn Up the Beats Please : Cool Speakers & Headphones

December 30, 2015

Pottery Barn Teen, Plush Rock'in Snoopy
Hey, I swore it was Christmas a second ago...am I right or am I right?

If you had a very Merry Christmas then maybe {just maybe} you were super lucky enough to get a new phone or maybe even a new {bigger} tablet?

If this is the case, first congratulations! Second, I am loving all the new fun speakers & headphones that are out there for our electronic devices. Whether you wanna pump up your tunes or turn up your Netflix volume --fun speakers are the trending thing.

Image created w/ Pic Lab
You probably got some Xmas jingle & gift card money too--didn't you? Then why not treat yo-self to some fun speakers for that fancy new phone?

I am really loving the speakers that PB Teen is selling. They have an assortment from unicorns, funny print, to golden rabbit ears speakers. What I like about these speakers is that they are youthful, but really unique too.

Headphones have come along way & I find these UGG Australia headphones {that look like ear- muffs} to be winter's perfect accessory!

Getting back to the speaker thing, this plush Snoopy PB Teen speaker was under my tree this holiday season. There is a hidden headphone jack in Snoopy's back & the sound then streams from Snoopy's paws. It's totally fun & super soft--plus, its Snoopy---how cute, right!

See you in The New Year with fun, fresh, & exciting posts!

Merry Christmas

December 25, 2015

I'd like to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas! Much Love, The Yellow Spectacles!

A Blogger's Christmas

December 23, 2015

Fa la la...la la la. You get the picture, it's Christmas & The Yellow Spectacles is knee deep in tinsel, ribbon, bows, & peppermint sprinkles. Hey, no complaints as these are champagne problems to have.

While these past few weeks, TYS has served up some rather jolly ideas. This week, I thought it would be festive to reach out to other bloggers so they could share a few of their own Christmas traditions/wishes too.

The Yellow Specs reached out to a selection of blogs/bloggers everywhere from, Elise from the blog, Caturday Style to Carly, from the blog,  The College Prepster.

So, here's how it worked out, each blogger who is featured below was asked to answer either:

1. What is your most cherished Holiday memory?

2. What is one thing you wish to find in your stocking this year?

Festive, fresh, fun, you got! Enjoy their answers & be sure to check out these ladies websites as they have their own Christmas posts going on!

_Elise, Caturday Style. Question No.2:
"I would love to get anything with cats on it. :) I am hoping to get some dainty cat jewelry because like any crazy cat lady I can't have enough cat things. :)"

_Carly, The College Prepster. Question No.2:
"I love getting cute socks in my stocking! It doesn't sound that fun, but I really love all the fun patterns and being able to wear them all winter long!

_Andrea, Instagram @ASliceopi. Question No. 1:

"I think my favorite cherished memory is how me and my siblings would drag our mattresses  to one of our rooms on Christmas Eve, so we could fall asleep watching "Christmas Story" and then all wake up in the same room Christmas Morning! "

_Katie, Instagram @KatieBowHead. Question No. 2:
"I'm really hoping for at least one or two more pairs of the Shea-Infused Lounge Socks from Bath & Body Works, the ultimate treat for your feet!"

_Tori, Prep for a Day. Question No. 1:
"My most cherished holiday memory was a Christmas Eve several years ago, when I was about eight.  My family and I had just gotten home from church, and I remember walking into the living room and seeing the tree sparkling and the hearing Christmas music playing.  We all bundled up with hot chocolate and a classic Christmas movie--it was the epitome of a perfect Christmas Eve."

_Bree, The Urban Umbrella. Question No. 1:
"Growing up, my family always wanted the holidays to be extra special. When I was really little they even went so far as to create large boot prints and reindeer footprints (using the end of a broomstick!) in the snow on our balcony so that I really thought Santa had come. The cutest part is that my mum also made a little reindeer collar that "Santa must have forgotten" so that I would have a little holiday memento! I still think of that and smile, though I no longer believe in Santa!"

_Brianne, Scrubs & Sparkle. Question No. 2:
"This year, I have been experimenting with new make-up products. I am guilty of using the same few products day in and day out, so I have been trying to switch it up lately. There are SO many good tutorials out there I figured I might as well try something new. With that being said, I am really hoping to get a Sephora gift card in my stocking or some of these amazing lip stainsI have the Melted Peony shade, but really want to try some of the others!"

_Katelyn, The Yellow Spectacles. Question No.2:
"Santa, I am thinking--rather dreaming of a rose gold & lavender watch that may or may not rhyme with Snapple...just say'in."

_Martha Kay, The North Left Coast. Question No. 1:
My favorite holiday memory is the time I gave my grandpa a Bonzai for Christmas. I only saw him cry twice in his life: when his beloved wife (my grandma) passed away and when I gave him this gift. I don't know what made him so emotional, but thinking he known a lot of thought had gone into it. It was a gift he could cherish, nurture, & keep for life. It was something I had put a lot of thought into knowing he loved to garden to perfection. My deer grandpa is no longer with me, but his face when he opened up his Christmas present will still be one of my favorite memories.

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays! Love, The Yellow Spectacles

The Scent of Christmas With The White Barn Candle Company

December 21, 2015

Gem Tone Touch
Recently, our mall had a L Brands makeover. First, came the PINK & Victoria Secret store(s) renovations. Next, came the remodeling of our Bath & Body Works adding on a side store named, The White Barn Candle Company.

Together, all four store are super glam with a upscale NYC Flagship store type of feel. However, I was mostly impressed with the new candle store.

The White Barn basically offers every delicious scent of life--& in many forms ranging from massive 3 wick candles, wall plugins, mini candles, down to car air fresheners.

We're lucky enough that this new addition came in the knick of time for Christmas as The White Barn Candle Company was decked to the walls with trees, tinsel, baubles, & spruce galore. Did I mention that the entire store smelt of fresh cut balsam fir? It did!

Glam o'l deer
The store's holiday decor was just as intriguing as their assortments of candles, wall flowers, & gem-tone vases. I captured a few of my favorites that caught my eye as they twinkled in every corner of the room.

Meet me under the Mistletoe?
Think these images look beautiful? I assure you they were, but the smells were even better--sorry, I couldn't capture them!

Glitter is my fav scent!

A Gossip Girl Inspired Holidaze with Katie Bowhead Designs

December 18, 2015

While Queen B, S, Lonely Boy, Little J, Nate, V, & Chuck have all gone their separate ways with the ending of the CW's hit show, Gossip Girl a few years back--the show's characters {& juicy scandals} live on forever in our hearts--not too mention we can relive the six scandalous seasons on Netflix too!

Generations past & present still relate & quote the show's witty humor & mimic GG's well-dressed style. Queen B aka Blair Waldorf's preppy clad style & iron fist ruling of New York's elite Upper East Side is still very much influential in the fashion & blogging world. In fact, preppy bloggers often ask themselves, What Would Blair Waldorf Do? {WWBWD}

Queen B Bracelet
Since it's the Holidaze, you'll want to stick around for a Gossip Girl Stocking Stuffer Inspired Treat featuring the lovely designs from The Katie Bowhead Designs designed by Kaitlin Kendall.

Currently, Kaitlin Kendall has a slew of glittered, pink, striped, jeweled, & sparkling selection of bows, bracelets, ornaments, headbands--you name it on her Etsy shop!

"If you really want something you don't stop for anything or anyone until you get it"-Blair Waldorf, Gossip Girl.

Luckily, The Yellow Specs was able to get a few Gossip Girl inspired accessories from her Etsy Shop just in time for Christmas.

Paris is Always a Good Idea!

While Blair dreams of Tiffany pearls to fill up her Lavin luxe stocking--I'm thinking that a few bow-t-ful bracelets from Kaitlin's shop will suffice. & I am not just gossiping here...see for yourself.

Ornaments just maybe the best Holiday decoration ever inventive. Each one is unique, festive, personable, & cheerful as the next. No matter your personal taste, interests, hobbies, home decor style, and flare there is an ornament out there for you.

Not too mention that ornaments have multi-purpose uses.

From Target

What I like to use ornaments for:

  • Filling bowls/glass topiaries
  • Gift toppers
  • Place card settings
  • Gifts
  • Garland embellishing
  • Tree trimming {duh}
  • Light fixture attachments {dangling}

Without further delay, here are a few ornaments that I was inspired by this Holiday Season--feel free to shop the links and bring a little twinkle into your home too!
