Do not discard Coastal Ohio. Ohio's shorelines will surprise you with its many beaches, Lake Erie views, & picturesque small town{s} magic. Exploring Vermilion, Ohio in today's post.

A Beautiful Lake Erie Lake House 

Named. "Ohio's Best Beach Town" Vermilion, Ohio is on the East Shores of Lake Erie, neighboring Berlin Heights, Birmingham, & Milan. 

Never have I been to Vermilion before my mid-August visit, but being to Nantucket, MA in the years past, the Coastal Ohio town reminded me of parts of Nantucket. 

Each coastal town shares charming coastal homes, quaint streets busy with cute shops, unique restaurants boats as far as the eye can see, plenty of blooming flowers, & money. Luckily, many of the Lake Erie beach towns have other lighthouses. I didn't find Vermilion's lighthouse or beach to be anything spectacular {Walnut Beach was actually far a nicer beach}. However, the beauty {& charm} of Vermilion is its beautiful homes, shopping & dining district as well as the overall small-town atmosphere.

While you'll find plenty of places to dine, I can recommend, Granny Joe's Ice Creamatorium {5598 Liberty Ave} as it used to be a funeral parlor, but now it's a cute sandwich & ice cream shop. Try the Lake Erie Perch sandwich.
