5 Things to Love About September
In this series of posts, I share 5 things to love about x month. Up next, five things to love about September.
By now, the air {hopefully} is getting crisp. The swimsuits have been tucked away, sandals have been swapped for faux fur-lined clogs, & your Pinterest feed has a healthy serving of pumpkin spice. In other words, we're on the cusp of autumn, wishing you a happy month of September.

I view the month of September as a transition month. I am trying to get back into the routine of being productive---long gone as those hazy-lazy summer days as well as getting ready for the colder months spent indoors. The notions of Spooky Season are lingering in the air as the stores break out their Halloween candies & pumpkin spice cold brew blends. It's a month of transitioning as well as a shift in seasons. In between bringing out the fall coats & taking fall foliage pictures, it is nice to pause on all of the 'fall chores' to just be in the season. Embrace it. Enjoy it.
Below, here are 5 things to love about September
- Canfield Fair: Reading this, by now, the 178th Canfield Fair is wrapped up. However, the big fair in my moderately small town goes from the last few days of August through Labor Day.
- Decluttering: This is a great time to purge your stuff. I love starting a new season with a blank slate as I go through my clothes, camera gear, & decor. A clean & tidy space sets the tone for new beginnings.
- Pumpkin Flavors: I always get excited when Aldis or Giant Eagle breaks out the pumpkin favors. I love Target's Good & Gather Pumpkin Spice Cold Brew along with the pumpkin coffee creamers.
- More Time with the Dogs: During the summer, my dogs get left alone while I am out enjoying the summer days. When autumn comes, I enjoy being home with them & getting them into a new seasonal routine with their mama.
- Fall Baking: When I think of fall baking, I think of making a spice cake for my grandpa, whose birthday was in October. There are so many little fall bakes to be made from now through November. Even if you bake a sheet of those pumpkin Pillsbury cookies, remember to bake at least one thing this season!
