Puppy Birthday Party Inspiration
All Hallow's Eve has left us. The ghosts have vanished & the leaves lost their luster. Maybe you have already packed up what is left of the spooky season & stored it away until next year. However, if you are still in the Halloween party spirit, I am sharing photos from Finley's 1st Birthday, which was last Halloween weekend. In the case that you are planning a birthday party for your dog.
In the past, I have shared photos & posts of my dogs' birthday parties. With Finley's birthday so close to Halloween, I knew I wanted to throw him a spooky-cute Halloween birthday party. For the puppy birthday party, I was inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas & Wednesday Addams.

Puppy Birthday Party Cake
Typically, I always bake a cake for people's birthdays. With Finley's birthday Halloween-themed, his cake was a pumpkin cake {box mix} with cream cheese frosting.
I used two cake pans. One of the pans was standard size. The second pan was a little cake pan, which went on top. As you can tell, it was a Jack Skellignton cake. The Nightmare Before Christmas character was something I have had forever. The silver '1' cake topper was from the dollar store.

Puppy Birthday Decorations
Many of Finley's birthday decorations came from the Dollar Tree. Everything from the party plates to the blow-up balloons. The felt Halloween party hats I made from felt & bits of things found in my craft cabinet.
The freestanding Thing Addams's hand was actually green. I purchased the green hand from Petsmart & painted it to look like Thing from Wednesday.

Tips for Planning Puppy's 1st Birthday
All birthdays are special, but I wanted Finley's 1st birthday to be extra special as it was his first. My go-to tip for planning your puppy's 1st birthday party is to have a special birthday photo taken a week or even a month before. This photo can be used as party decor as well as on invites {if making}.
Secondly, take inspiration from the season &what your pet's personality is. Finley fully embraces the spooky season, so a Halloween Birthday party was fitting.
