Flowers ⁕ for Mom: Mother's Day DIY  Gift Wrap

"In life, all good things come hard, but wisdom is the hardest to come by."

- Lucille Ball

Mother's Day, Sunday, May 14th, 2023 is a day where we not only celebrate moms, but all of those motherly figures in our lives that have made a positive impact. No matter if the maternal-figures in your life are blood related or not, this is a day we should turn around & say thank you for all of the support & rock-solid advice.

Naturally, flowers are a go-to gesture. However, if you bought your mom or motherly figure in your life a gift & need to wrap it in something, I got an easy DIY for you. By now, you know I enjoy repurposing household items into crafts & gift wrap. Exhibit A. Exhibit B

Today, I took an empty oatmeal container & made a makeshift 'flower-arrangement' to wrap a Yeti tumbler inside.

This sustainable craft is so easy. All of the tissue paper I used came inside a pre-owned camera that I bought. I was able to repurpose everything from my home to make this Mother's Day craft.

Supplies:

To replicate this eco-friendly crafts, you'll need a cleaned out cardboard canister of some kind. If it's tall, like a flower vase, that is even better.

Method:

Simply wrap you container with a slit brown paper  bag. I hot glued the two ends after wrapping the tube with the paper bag. I tucked the top & end of the bag's trimming on both of the container's ends. To make the flowers, simply use your gift wrap & fluff up. You can cut flower shapes out of paper & glue on the top of the tissue paper sticking out. Easy, right?

To make it look like a flower-delivery bouquet, you can add a name tag 'mom' & ribbon. Here, is a great place to use your ribbon remnants.

Really, whatever vision you have for your empty cardboard tube can make for a cute gift wrap idea. I considered making a frog with the opening being the frog's mouth, who knows, maybe next year.

This one goes out to all the mothers, grandmothers, best friends, & cool aunts who share their love, wisdom, & support with those whom look up & follow them.

Happy Mother's Day!
