'Where's all my soul sistas?

Lemme hear ya'll flow, sistas

Hey sista, go sista, soul sista, flow sista

Hey sista, go sista, soul sista, go sista' -{Lady Marmalade}

Except, in this case, replace soul & flow with thrifty.

Thrifted Outfit

Feel it now? If you haven't already guessed, this blog post is thrifted with purpose & intent as everything I am wearing {socks/shoes/undergarments aside} has been upcycled in some capacity.

This past summer, an article appearing on Vogue's website titled, Well-Intentioned: Kathryn Hahn on the Power of Purge & How To cCreative Direct Your Dreams, stood out to me.  In this article, Hahn shares the importance of closet cleanouts, not holding on to stuff for the sake of having stuff.

I for one feel {beyond} empowered with a good closet purge. Recently, I purge my closet & drawers of clothing, accessories, & shoes that didn't inspire nor fulfill me. I don't let things hold power over me.

Mostly everything I purged went to ThredUp. This was my first time selling to the brand & it was pretty effortless.

All of my donated clothing was clean & ready for re-sell. I prepped my packages inside cardboard boxes & printed my own {free} ThredUp USPS labels. Next, I dropped the labeled boxes off at the Post Office & awaited ThredUp's email confirmation that they received my clothing.

In addition to this being my first time selling with the company, it was also my first time shopping from ThredUp. I was able to find a few vintage Lilly Pulitzer pieces. One of them being the pants I am wearing in this post.  If you want to learn more about how ThredUp works, you can read my piece titled, How to Sell Clothes Online Apps

Tip, know what items you're seeking when thrifting.

As noted, my pants were bought second-hand from ThredUp. My top {Cape Cod Sportswear} was my mom's sweater.

My crocheted clutch was my grandma's as well as my turquoise ring. Turquoise is my favorite precious/ gemstone.

Thrifting Tip

While I don't thrift often, I appreciate the sustainability factor. One tip I learned when shopping secondhand is to have an idea of what you're looking for. Otherwise, you'll go into the experience feeling overwhelmed & possibly leaving with items that you really didn't need nor want.
