Styling December 2020: Holiday Style x Favorite Christmas Toy of All Time
Sitting here, in a small glow of twinkle lights, instrumental holiday jazz humming from my Google Clock, & a peacefulness knowing the {few} gifts I bought for the holidays are wrapped & done feels good--good enough for holiday standards.
Glam Holiday Style |
While the holidays look {& feel} a hella-lot different this year, I always try to incorporate a little bit of sparkle. So this year, I'll just have to sparkle {even if it's just for a blog post} six feet away from everyone else. Looking back on season's past holiday blog post, I have always included a bit of sparkle & glam in my holiday looks--it's just festive, even for my more tame holiday standards.
Sparkle aside, for years, growing up, there was always something else that was a constant during this time of the year. She'd be Barbie.
Growing up, I always had {at-least one} Barbie on my Christmas list. Some years she was a marine biologist accompanied by a killer whale other years she was dressed in a nightgown & adding cool water to her eyes made her fall asleep. Some times, Barbie came in a pair & looked like the Olsen Twins & others she was a Disney Princess.
The months, weeks, days leading up to December 25th, I would dream about the morning I would reunite with my asked Barbie. Oh, I'd imagine the stories I would play out, what friends she'd make with the dolls already living in my room, & most importantly, I would set up a little bed to welcome my new Barbie & make sure she felt right at home.
Holiday Barbie |
This year, things are different, we know, but it felt right to bring Barbie back for Holiday 2020. I found this simple yet holiday chic barbie gown on Etsy & styled vintage Barbie to sparkle with me this holiday season.
After all, it's not the presents that we remember as the year's pass, but the memories that form over the years that make the holidays feel special--special like everything is just how it should be.

Styling December's Holiday Look
Sparkle is {in my opinion} the accessory for Christmastime. While I have many simple sparkle dresses linked below, this one is from ASOS last year.
I paired it with a season's past J Crew slingbacks & Sheertex black glitter-infused stockings. I actually love these tights as this particular brand does not run nor rip!
A red lip for the holidays is always festive, this particular PIXI lipstick has a coral undertone, but it looks redder when on--I think.
Styling tip, add subtle holiday accessories to make your look feel festive |
As for vintage Barbie, I mentioned, I got her dress from Etsy. The shop is called, Your Pattern Place & if you're into Barbie clothes, these handmade items are beautiful & of great quality.
