I Pink I'll Go To The Pool: What's In My Pool Bag

June is primetime pool season--wouldn't you agree? I like nothing more to spend an afternoon at the pool & I pack accordingly!

In this post, I thought it'd be fun to share with you what I keep inside my pool bag--a few are pretty obvious yet others are a little more eccentric.

Inside My Pool Tote:

  • Sunscreen: I go with 50+ {typically the spray-on} & for my face I opt for something light {& non-pore clogging} such as Neutrogena or Copper Tone. I also use the SPF sunscreen lip balms--Banana Boat makes a good one.
  • SunIn: Here's a secret, I have never dyed my hair, but it goes {super} blonde in the summer months as I spray a bit of sun-in/hair lightening spray on the top of my hair-through my ponytail--it really gives you natural summer highlights!
  • Visor: I always wear a visor-always-it keeps the sun off my face {& future wrinkles} & I can still lighten my hair! This summer, I am wearing this cute gingham one from Forever 21.
  • Sunglasses: No explanation here-I have a sunglass problem-I know it! This summer, I am really loving the retro shades.

  • Books: I read a lot in the summer--typically during kid swim. This Summer I am hoping to read; The Sherlockian by Graham Moore, Pretty Mess by Erika Jayne, The Heiress by Sara Shepard & a few others.
  • Gum: I am not sure why, it's probably not the best idea, but gum-something fun like Hubba Bubba 'cause its summer!
  • Towels & Pool Mat: Okay, pool chairs {at public pools} can be ehh, so I have a chair {waterproof} mat I lay on top of the chair & my towels for swimming.

  • Shampoo/Conditioner/Shower Gel: At the end of the pool day, I shower the pool off. So I carry travel size shampoos, conditioners, & shower gels in my bag. Pro tip, the little bottles you can buy at Bath & Body Works work great!
  • Flip-Flops: I always keep an extra pair of flip-flops in my bag--the Old Navy ones are perfect for the pool.
  • Aloe: Cool-down spray with aloe is so relieving & refreshing on your hot skin after a quick shower headed home.
Stay cool & thanks for reading! xoxo
