Have You Considered a Wellness Vacay? A Guide to Booking a Wellness Vacation

A Guide to Booking a Wellness Vacation

Summer travel season has officially begun & whether you are heading out later this week for a trip or still deciding on 'where to next?' have you ever stopped & considered a wellness vacation?

Wellness Vacations {no matter the coast or climate} are rising in popularity as people are looking to unplug & re-connect with the now & their inner selves.

Wellness vacations are great weekend options for a quick reality detox but are probably more effective when one takes a week or so to focus on themselves.

So, what is a wellness trip? I have been on two trips where the idea is to really recollect one's thoughts & find some inner peace & clarity.  When you are on a wellness trip, it is about your mind, body, & spirit. The idea is to move on this trip, take classes that challenge you physically, mentally, & creatively as well as pamper yourself {think spa day}.

When planning your wellness trip, think of activities that interest you or ones that you have always wanted to try, but never have. Many resorts offer packages & or ideas for various activities on their premise or nearby.

A few wellness activities to consider during your next self-care-trip are:

  • Paddle Boarding
  • Paint & Sip Class
  • Stand-Yoga Paddle Boarding Class
  • Sunrise Mountain Hike
  • Pottery Class
  • Water Cycle Spin Class
  • Facial
  • Moonlight Kayak
  • Total Body Massage
  • Cooking Dinner Class
  • Nature/Garden Tour
The key is to exercise your mind, body, as well as offer some time to bring clarity back into your life. When you leave, you'll be feeling refreshed & ready for the next season of life.

Last year, I wrote a piece for Coastal Living about the best coastal places to take a wellness trip, you can read that here.

As you can see, I am not in a coastal setting in this post, but in Peoria Arizona. My number one tip for taking a wellness trip is to find a place that you want to visit, book a couple of opportunities to try new things, & take time to just be in the now--find a moment of zen. Which for me, is by the pool.

Also, this TripAdvisor article lists a ton of well travel destinations--not just coastal ones.
